In celebration of Ron Shimek's Invertebrate Embryology and Reproduction Class being offered at the Reef Stewardship Foundation beginning on January 10, I decided to make a photo essay of the larval development of my population of RSF Cerith snails. This was much more challenging than the photos I took of the RSF Collumbellid snails because the Ceriths are much, much smaller.
We are running up close to a huge personal milestone for me. On Dec. 31, 2009, my pair of harlequin filefish will have been under my care for a full year! I have heard that there will be many parties and people may even set off fireworks in their honor. I have to say that I really appreciate all of the festivities that people have planned on that day, all just for one small pair of fish.
